04 Can I expand the lighting system later?
Yes. The included six fixtures use approximately 26W, leaving ample capacity on the 150W transformer for additional low-voltage lights. For reliable performance, keep the total fixture load below approximately 80% of the transformer’s rated capacity.
The included 100 ft of 14/2 cable is generally sufficient for the original kit layout, but additional cable may be required depending on your yard size, fixture spacing, and expansion plan. For longer runs, use separate cable branches or a higher-voltage transformer tap where appropriate to help reduce voltage drop.
05 What beam angle do the spotlights provide?
The included MR16 bulbs provide an approximately 45° beam angle, creating a balanced beam suitable for trees, shrubs, façades, and general landscape highlighting.
Because the spotlight uses a replaceable MR16 bulb, the beam angle can also be changed by installing another compatible bulb.
06 Are the bulbs replaceable?
Yes. The spotlights use replaceable MR16 bulbs, while the path lights use replaceable G4 bi-pin bulbs. This allows you to replace the light source without replacing the entire fixture.
Compatible bulb wattage, voltage, dimensions, and outdoor suitability should be confirmed before replacement.
07 How are the fixtures connected to the main cable?
Each fixture includes a lead wire and waterproof wire connectors. Position the fixture, expose the conductors in the main landscape cable, and connect the fixture wires to the cable using the supplied connectors.
The transformer should remain disconnected from power while making wire connections. Follow the included installation instructions and local electrical requirements.
08 Can the cable be buried underground?
Yes. The included 14/2 landscape lighting cable is intended for low-voltage outdoor lighting applications and can be routed through garden beds and buried according to local installation requirements.
Leave enough cable near each fixture to allow for positioning and future maintenance.
09 Does the transformer include automatic controls?
Yes. The included transformer features timer and photocell control, allowing the lighting system to operate according to a selected schedule or automatically based on surrounding light conditions.
10 Are the fixtures weather-resistant?
Yes. The fixtures are rated IP65 for outdoor use and are designed to resist rain, dust, corrosion and normal landscape conditions. They should not be installed in areas where they will remain fully submerged in water.
